2024 has been a big year for Third Planet Exploration (3PXS) and a successful one. We’ve had the opportunity to work at a global scale, hone our knowledge, foster great new relationships, and strengthen existing ones. We’ve participated in several international conferences, worked across 10 countries, covering 6 different deposit types and visited some interesting exploration projects.
We kicked off our Year in Review 2024 with our focus solely on Canada and North America. We attended the AME Roundup conference in Vancouver and delivered a 2-day ioGAS training course in association with IMDEX and the MDRU. In March we caught up with our international network at the PDAC in Toronto. Datasets from Alaska, Canada and the USA kept us busy, producing geochemical targets and geological models from surface exploration data.
In summer we travelled to Finland, beginning our stint in Rovaniemi, delivering an ioGAS training course with IMDEX. Following this, we travelled east to the Kuusamo Schist Belt to visit Latitude 66 where we utilised our geochemical expertise to develop Au (Co) exploration targets, giving their team a powerful, hands-on, demonstration of their geochemical data. During in depth discussions with the team, we increased the geological understanding of the controls on mineralisation, this geochemical modelling then contributed to targeting in the upcoming drilling.
Throughout the year we developed geochemical models for various porphyry copper deposits from Europe to South America, improving the identification of different intrusive phases and linking this to the genesis of mineralisation. Other datasets saw us producing generative targets in Asia and developing geochemical models for high/low sulphidation and VMS mineral systems.
To finish off the year we made the trip all the way to Australia to attend the International Applied Geochemistry Symposium (IAGS) in Adelaide. During this conference we presented our workflows on mapping out chemo-stratigraphy, showing what a powerful tool it is in redox controlled mineral systems and our workflow on determining pyrite chemistry, for better understanding multiple phase mineralising events. We also thoroughly enjoyed catching up with the global community of geochemists.
So that was our year in review 2024. Looking ahead to 2025 we aim to expand on our success and continue to grow, hoping to provide game changing geochemical optimisation to a wider audience and maximise the potential from your geochemistry data, reducing time to discovery.
